HNL Held Town Hall Meeting with Hararis in Addis Ababa

The Harari National League held a Town Hall meeting with Hararis who reside in Addis Ababa on March 16th, 2008.  A delegation from Harar, which was lead by the President of the Harari National Regional State, H.E. Murad Abdulhadi, arrived in Addis for the meeting.

The Harari National League held a Town Hall meeting with Hararis who reside in Addis Ababa on March 16th, 2008.  A delegation from Harar, which was lead by the President of the Harari National Regional State, H.E. Murad Abdulhadi, arrived in Addis for the meeting.

The delegation included several officials and elders from Harar.  The discussions at the meeting covered progresses made by HNL in achieving good governance in the Harari National Regional State, as well as actions taken to strengthen the party by giving representation to areas that had none before.

President Murad emphasized the need to continue in the path of economic development and good governance that is taking a foothold in our nation and Regional State.  The president urged supporters of HNL to stand by the party for the development of the Regional State and to struggle against anti-democratic forces and those with narrow and selfish motivations.

The vice speaker of the Harari National Congress, Ms. Shukria Ahmed, spoke of several projects undertaken by HNL to actively engage women to participate in the affairs of the nation.  Ms. Shukria also discussed about actions taken by HNL to preserve Harari heritages and monuments, as well as concrete actions taken to make the Harari language the official working language of the Harari National Regional State.
